Plenary Sessions

Holiness in Routine Faithfulness

The quest for holiness will be presented in the context of a balanced Christian life with routine faithfulness to God being the standard of practice.

Q&A Session with Dr. Ryrie

Opportunity will be given to address Dr. Charles Ryrie with your written questions through a moderator.

Developing Personal Holiness

Without holiness, no man will see God. The problem is, a Christian lives in an unholy world and there is an enemy who seeks to defile the Child ofGod. This plenary session will present many practical ideas from the Scriptures to resist worldliness and develop holy, Christlike character.

Holiness and the Problem of Idolatry

One of the key obstacles in the quest for holiness is the allurement of counterfeit gods.  Idolatry is not merely a historic problem of ancient peoples, it is the daily temptation of our sinful hearts.  This session will encourage us to identify the idols of our hearts and replace them with an infinitely superior object of worship and devotion: Jesus Christ the Lord.

Holiness Through Beholding the Glory of Christ

2 Corinthians 3:18 says it is through “beholding the glory of the Lord” that we are “being transformed into the same image.”  Therefore this session commends meditation on the glories of Christ as an essential element in the quest for holiness.

Modern Spirituality and Paul's Spiritual Man

“Spirituality,” a word not found in the Bible has been hijacked by so many modern movements that it has become almost meaningless.  In this session, Dr. MacLeod will briefly survey the usage of the term in today’s world and then expound the Apostle Paul’s teaching on the spiritual man in 1 Corinthians 2:14-3:3.

Helping Others Pursue Holiness in the Church

None of us develops holy character in isolation from the family of God, the local church.  As our society grows more secular and anti-Christian, the pursuit of holiness becomes more urgent. We need to be aware of this and help others, especially our young people, grow in Christlike, holy character. The New Testament provides many directives for helping others put this into practice.
